Final Update!

LAST BLOG'S PLAN First, I would like to remind you about the plan that I created in my last blog: 1. Complete 4 more pages: The options of what I might complete include two April memory pages, two May pages, pages on books to read, shows to watch, and/or movies to watch, wedding to-do pages, and Username/Password pages. 2. Continue to practice lettering: I plan to work on the free online lettering class. I would like to get through at least half of the lowercase alphabet. 3. Continue to practice artwork: I would like to complete at least 6 more squares on my Doodle a Day page. PROGRESS 1. Complete 4 more pages: I met this goal! I completed the April memory page and the May spread. The memory pages are really fun to create. It's fun to go back through all of my pictures for the month and reminisce. April contains pictures of my pets, a text from my dad, a picture of my mom, and some lettering pictures. I continued with the small flower theme that I had ...

LAST BLOG'S PLAN First, I would like to remind you about the plan that I created in my last blog: 1. Complete 4 more pages: The options of what I might complete include two vacation countdown pages, two spring cleaning pages, two May pages, pages on books to read, shows to watch, and/or movies to watch, or wedding to-do pages. 2. Practice lettering: I plan to complete pages in the lettering book that I purchased. I also signed up for a free online lettering class. I have no idea if it's useful or not, but I will check that out and hopefully complete a few lessons. 3. Practice artwork: As I've said, I am NOT an artist. I saw a spread someone did on doodling. I plan to actively practice doodles so that, for example, my flowers don't look so horrible. PROGRESS 1. Complete 4 more pages: I've not only completed 4 more pages, but I've finished EIGHT more! I'm so impressed with myself. I completed the following pages: a countdown to my vacation to L...

More Progress!

LAST BLOG'S PLAN In my last blog post, I shared the following plan with you: 1. I would like to continue to focus on lettering, more specifically faux calligraphy. I really like how it looks, and I think it could really enhance my bullet journaling pages. I plan to watch multiple videos, print and complete practice pages, and incorporate it into my journal. 2. I intend to research the benefits of bullet journaling. I've come across some information about this, but I haven't made a focused effort to research it. 3. Finally, I plan to complete at least 4 new bullet journal pages. My daughter is getting married in June of 2020, so I will complete 2 bullet journal pages on wedding planning. My plan is to use a wedding checklist to track what we need to do 12 months out, 11 months out, etc. For the next two pages, I will complete my April calendar. Instead of the wedding pages, I might do countdown pages for my summer vacations. PROGRESS 1. LETTERING: I wo...

Off To a Great Start!

PROGRESS I have made a great deal of progress since deciding to do my project on bullet journaling.  February 27: I emailed my mentors, Lindsey and Anna Bellotti, to ask if they would be willing to help me; one of them (Lindsey) got back to me right away and agreed to help. February 28: My second mentor, Anna, emailed me back and said she would also be willing to help me. Today I researched how to set-up a bullet journal. March 6: A student, Lilly, gave me some lettering tips! (I'm still not very good at it.) I also researched the origin of bullet journaling by watching a video and reading the original website. March 8: I researched lettering. I watch a video titled "10 Lettering Enhancements Anyone Can Do," and I immediately practiced. The ones I practiced dealt with block lettering.  March 9: I FINALLY started my actual bullet journal. The first pages that I did were 4 pages called "Future Planner." This consists of a small calendar for each month...

My Pitch

Image
For my 20-Time Project, I would like to learn how to bullet journal. Reasons Organization: A bullet journal is a great way to keep track of weekly and monthly appointments, as well as to track areas such as water intake, tv viewing, and moods. Creativity: While I am somewhat creative, I have a great deal of room for improvement in this area. I enjoy creative endeavors; I'm just not necessarily good at them. Catharsis: I believe that bullet journaling will provide time for me to relax, and it will likely be somewhat therapeutic. Final Product Partially complete bullet journal Video flip-tough or photo essay of the pages and/or process Materials & Cost Bullet journal - $5.00 Pens, pencils, ruler - $0 Stickers, washi tape - $10 Research Origin: I would research how bullet journaling began, who started it, etc. Set-up Options: I would research the best way to set up the journal - monthly, weekly, etc. Lettering/Ar...

My Initial Reaction To the 20-Time Project

Image
Well, it's here! My favorite time of the year! It's time for the 20-Time Project! **Note for readers. This post is a sample for my students.** My initial reaction after 20-Time was introduced was hesitation. The project sounded kind of fun, but I could tell it was going to be a major undertaking. I was really confused about what topic I could choose, and that made me frustrated. Now that I've brainstormed ideas, I feel more confident about what is expected; however, I'm still a little bit nervous. The most difficult part of the process so far has been choosing a topic. I have a lot of ideas swimming around in my head, and part of me wishes I could do all of them. The brainstorming helped me come up with ideas, and I have it narrowed down to three ideas. Those three ideas are cooking, bullet journaling, and dog training. The best part of the process so far has been hearing all of the other ideas that people have. There is a wide variety of pro...
